Oberkirch, Germany, 05/08/2025 – The Höringhausen wind farm, a joint project between Koehler Renewable Energy and Qair, is starting its next stage of construction after a brief winter break. Among other things, the project is raising the bar when it comes to teamwork and sustainable power generation and delivery.

A solid partnership and a shared passion for green progress

From the get-go, the project has reflected close cooperation between equals, with trust characterizing every step of the way. Both companies are bringing their full expertise, capacity for innovation, and passion for renewable energies to the table. “Our teamwork with Qair has been consistently characterized by mutual respect, openness, and an absolute determination to make an important contribution to decarbonizing the power sector together,” underscores Nicolas Christoph, the head of the Wind Power, Solar, Hydro & Business Development Division at Koehler Renewable Energy. Qair Project Manager Stefan Ziegler adds: “This project shows how collaborative action and a shared vision can drive the energy transition forward in concrete ways. Needless to say, we’re tremendously proud of making this flagship project a reality together with Koehler Renewable Energy.”

Technical highlights and project progress

The Höringhausen wind farm project consists of two subprojects: Four of the turbines belong to the “Langer Wald” wind farm, while another one is part of the “Waldeck” project area. The five state-of-theart Vestas V162 wind turbines will have a total ratedcapacity of 31 megawatts. More specifically, each one has a rated capacity of 6.2 MW, a hub height of 166 meters, and a tip height of 247 meters. The foundations and the first 83 meters of the concrete towers were already erected last year. And work is going full speed ahead once again since the beginning of April: The first tower sections and rotor blades have been successfully delivered, and construction continues to march apace. All five wind turbines are expected to be completed by the end of June 2025 and scheduled to be commissioned and go online at the start of August.

Another important milestone was reached on April 11, 2025: The 80 MVA transformer at the new transformer station has successfully undergone its initial connection, which marks an important step in the process of connecting the wind farm to the grid in the future.

Shaping the future together with excitement around the energy transition

The Höringhausen project is much more than just erecting a few wind turbines: It stands for real change, incredible innovation, and the firm belief that the energy transition can only be achieved if we all pull together. Qair and Koehler Renewable Energy are bundling together their respective strengths in order to make a sustainable contribution to society, the environment, and the region. Accordingly, the two partners are betting on transparency, dialogue, and a long-term focus – all while showing how working together as equal stakeholders creates real excitement about green energy.
