JA Solar To Showcase New Utility-Scale Battery and Latest-Generation TOPCon Modules at Intersolar 2026
Published in: Solar, Press Releases
27 May 2026 – JA Solar, a global leader in photovoltaic products and integrated energy solutions, will introduce its latest advancements in battery energy storage systems and high-efficiency solar modules at Intersolar Europe 2026 (Hall A2, Stand 380).
The showcase will include an early preview of JA Solar’s new utility-scale battery energy storage system, JAGalaxy, alongside the JAPlanet battery for commercial and industrial (C&I) applications. JA Solar will also present its latest-generation n-type TOPCon modules from its premium DeepBlue 5.0 and DeepBlue 4.0 Pro series. Together, these products reflect the company’s continued evolution from a leading global module manufacturer into a provider of comprehensive, end-to-end energy solutions across all major market segments.
New storage solutions for C&I and utility-scale installations
Taking centre stage at this year’s exhibition, JA Solar will unveil a preview model of its new JAGalaxy utility-scale battery energy storage system, offering visitors to the show one of the first opportunities to see the platform firsthand.
Designed for grid-connected renewable energy projects, JAGalaxy delivers over 5 MWh of capacity and 93% round-trip efficiency, supporting more stable renewable integration and improved grid balancing at scale. The system incorporates a comprehensive safety architecture, including multi-stage protection with millisecond-level response, real-time monitoring and a three-tier fire detection and suppression system. Its modular design enhances operational reliability while simplifying maintenance, addressing key requirements for large-scale deployment.
Also making its Intersolar debut this year is JAPlanet, the company’s battery energy storage system for C&I installations. Launched in December 2025 and already successfully deployed at multiple sites across Italy, Germany, the Netherlands and Lithuania, JAPlanet is a 261kWh lithium iron phosphate (LFP) system that combines high energy density with an integrated 125kW Power Conversion System (PCS) in a compact, modular architecture. Scalable up to 20 units (5.2MWh), it is designed to adapt seamlessly to a wide range of C&I applications.
JAPlanet delivers up to 88% AC-side round-trip efficiency, while advanced liquid cooling maintains cell temperatures within ±1.5°C to optimise performance, extend battery life and reduce auxiliary consumption. Battery safety is built in and validated by UL9540A, with features including thermal runaway detection, millisecond insulation monitoring, and a three-tier fire protection system. Backed by a five-year warranty, extendable to ten years, and a minimum state of health (SOH) of 80% or 8,000 cycles, the system leverages AI to predict and diagnose potential issues, ensuring high product availability.
Advanced TOPCon modules for C&I installations
In solar generation, JA Solar will showcase a wide selection of modules from its DeepBlue 5.0 and DeepBlue 4.0 Pro series.
DeepBlue 5.0 represents the company’s fifth-generation TOPCon technology platform, featuring high-efficiency, double-glass bifacial modules engineered for strong performance in low-light conditions and harsh environments, with reduced long-term degradation and stable energy yield over time. Among the modules on display will be the JAM48D50/LR range, delivering up to 670W with efficiency reaching 24.8% and designed for both residential and C&I rooftops.
The DeepBlue 4.0 Pro series is a range of n-type double-glass modules designed for high power density, durability and long-term performance across residential, C&I and utility-scale applications, supported by up to 22% efficiency, a 30-year power warranty and a low 0.3% annual degradation rate. On display will be the JAM54D40/LR monofacial module for residential installations, alongside the JAM66D46/LB module, developed for C&I and utility-scale projects.
Alastair Mounsey, Head of Europe at JA Solar, comments: “The next phase of solar is not defined by modules alone, but by integrated energy ecosystems. JA Solar is accelerating that transition by combining leading solar module technology with advanced storage platforms, from the commercially proven JAPlanet system to the upcoming JAGalaxy utility-scale solution. Together, these technologies are designed to redefine how solar assets deliver greater flexibility, resilience and grid value.”
