Intersolar 2026: SolarEdge Launches New Backup-Ready Commercial Battery and Expands MultiRange Concept Across Entire C&I PV Inverter Portfolio image
  • Expanding SolarEdge’s commercial storage line-up and complementing the recently launched 197 kWh offering, the new CSS-OD 107 kWh system offers new power options and backup-ready architecture
  • SolarEdge’s MultiRange Concept is now available across its European residential and C&I inverters, streamlining inventory management, installation and servicing

MUNICH, GermanyJune 23, 2026 SolarEdge, a global leader in smart energy technology, launched its new CSS-OD 107kWh commercial storage system for Europe, expanding the company’s C&I storage portfolio. At Intersolar Europe 2026, the company also announced the expansion of its MultiRange Concept across the entirety of its European C&I PV inverter line. Together, the launches help installers to simplify system selection, commissioning and stock management across a broader solar and storage portfolio.

Designed for indoor or outdoor commercial and industrial (C&I) installations, the CSS-OD 107 comprises a 107kWh battery cabinet paired with a 29.9 kW or 49.9 kW battery inverter and is scalable up to 2.1 MWh per deployment. The new system is backup-ready*[1] and is designed to support critical loads during grid outages, with a seamless transition of less than 20 milliseconds. The system supports multiple optimization modes running in parallel, enabling businesses to address a range of energy management objectives simultaneously, including maximum self-consumption, peak shaving, tariff optimization (fixed and dynamic), and export and import limit management.

The CSS-OD 107 introduces a choice of 29.9kW and 49.9kW battery inverter options, providing installers with more flexibility to match storage power to different site load profiles and project requirements. The additional power options are intended to provide greater design flexibility, helping installers tailor storage deployments more precisely to site needs while expanding the range of commercial applications the system can support.

For installers, the system is designed to simplify commissioning. Factory pre-assembly and testing are intended to help reduce onsite time and installation errors, while the commissioning flow combines the CSS-OD Local Interface for onsite configuration with SolarEdge Go for site-wide commissioning and device management through a single app. In addition, the SolarEdge Designer software tool includes an intelligent battery sizing capability that recommends the optimal CSS-OD configuration based on site’s roof size, load profile and the customer’s energy and financial goals, streamlining system planning and design.

Naama Ohana, Chief Commercial & Industrial Division at SolarEdge: We continue to see strong growth in the commercial storage market across Europe, reinforcing its importance as a key strategic focus for SolarEdge. Complementing our larger-scale 197kWh CSS-OD solution, the expanded portfolio provides customers and installers with a more flexible way to match storage capacity and power to site-specific needs, while supporting a wider range of commercial energy applications.”

Safety is a key focus of the CSS-OD 107. The system features an enhanced multi-layer safety architecture, with protections implemented across cell, module, cluster and cabinet levels. Among other safety standards, the system is tested in accordance with UL9540A.

New cabinet-level safety features include a pressure relief panel to help reduce internal pressure build-up, a CO detector to provide early warning of thermal runaway events, a fire-fighting valve for the entry of extinguishing agents into the cabinet, an exhaust valve for controlled gas release during thermal runaway events, and an acoustic-visual alarm to provide clear onsite warning in the event of a fire or electrical protection alarm.

Multi-Range Concept Expansion

At the show, SolarEdge also announced that its Three Phase Commercial PV Inverters now support the company’s MultiRange Concept. This enables installers to set each inverter’s power rating onsite during commissioning using the SolarEdge Go mobile application, eliminating the need to order and stock multiple part number for different power classes. As a result, the MultiRange Concept simplifies ordering, inventory management, logistics, installation, and servicing. Already introduced across selected residential inverters and the commercial Synergy Inverter in Europe, it has now been expanded to SolarEdge’s entire C&I PV Inverter portfolio.
