  • Its modular architecture, liquid cooling and plug-and-play integration into a medium voltage solution, help increasing system availability, simplify O&M and optimise the design of BESS.
  • With this addition, the company is strengthening one of the most comprehensive portfolios of storage solutions on the market, bearing the ‘Made in Europe’ seal.

Ingeteam is expanding its range of energy storage solutions with the launch of the INGECON SUN STORAGE M Series, a new modular central inverter designed for utility-scale storage applications of up to 4.55 MW.

The INGECON SUN STORAGE M Series is a three-phase bidirectional unit for energy storage systems with a battery voltage range of up to 1,500 Vdc without derating, enabling maximum system performance under demanding operating conditions. It is aimed at AC-coupled utility-scale storage systems, in both Grid Following and Grid Forming applications, providing flexibility for different operating models and grid requirements.

The new platform is based on a modular architecture, which offers significant advantages in the design and operation of BESS plants. Thanks to this approach, projects can benefit from increased system availability, simpler operation and maintenance tasks, and reduced risk throughout the installation’s lifecycle.

The modular design also allows for optimised connection to the batteries, maximising output power with fewer units and facilitating adaptation to different plant configurations.

Another key feature of the new system is liquid cooling, which improves the thermal stability of the equipment and helps increasing the efficiency and reliability of the inverter in high-power applications.

The INGECON SUN STORAGE M Series is specifically designed for storage applications lasting several hours, which are becoming increasingly important for the integration of renewable energy and grid stability. This development is complemented by a medium-voltage plug-and-play solution, which simplifies plant design and streamlines the installation and commissioning of the system.

The product is now available and is currently being manufactured at Ingeteam’s production facility in Sesma (Navarra), from where it will be supplied for future large-scale international storage projects.

Its official launch will take place during the Intersolar Europe trade show, to be held in Munich, where visitors will be able to see its main features first-hand at the Ingeteam stand, located in Hall B3 (stand B3.550).

With this launch, Ingeteam continues to drive forward technological solutions aimed at improving the performance, flexibility and reliability of large-scale energy storage systems.
