High level of bookings for elektrotechnik

New exhibitors announced for the upcoming building, industrial and energy technology show

Even now, eight months before the show gets underway, elektrotechnik bookings are high, which augurs well for a promising event in 2025. Exhibitors at the building, industrial and energy technology show will comprise businesses that have been exhibiting for years as well as a raft of first-timers including well known players in the industry.

Dortmund, 25 June 2024 – Messe Dortmund and the North Rhine Westphalia Electrical & Information Technology Trade Association (FEH NRW), elektrotechnik’s technical and conceptual sponsor, are looking forward to the next show scheduled for 12 to 14 February 2025. After nearly 90% of exhibitors had already spoken out in favour of participating again in 2025 following the 2023 show, the bookings to date show clearly that 2025 is not just going to be a reunion, it’s also going to bring encounters with a lot of new faces.

One example is Eltako, a leading European company engaged in the development, manufacture and sale of switchgear, power supply units, smart electricity meters, building radio equipment and smart home applications. ABUS from Volmarstein near Wuppertal, a well-known manufacturer of preventive security equipment, will also be in attendance.

The growing heating sector in the buildings technology segment will also be bringing well-known new exhibitors to elektrotechnik 2025 – including businesses such as Vitramo and TEL GmbH which are known for their expertise in all aspects of infra-red heating, an alternative to conventional convection heaters. Exhibitors such as Elkatherm will be presenting bespoke electric heating systems, reinforcing a topic of future importance whose significance for the electrical trade is growing by the day.

New exhibitors to focus on lighting
Another focus issue is emerging among the newcomers, with Signify, RIDI Leuchten, SCHMITZ-WILA and RZB all bringing expertise in the fields of illumination, lighting systems and corresponding services, adding their credentials to a centre of emphasis that has already been prominently occupied in previous years by famous names such as Trilux, Regiolux, Zumtobel, Ledvance, Brumberg and SLV.

The team at Messe Dortmund and FEH NRW, the show’s technical sponsor, see this big-name growth as confirmation, even before its 45th anniversary show that – for new exhibitors and long-standing participants alike – elektrotechnik is without compare for businesses in the industry.

Martin Böhm, President of FEH NRW, explains this as follows: “We’ve always enjoyed a particularly high quality of trade visitors and a high proportion of key players and opinion leaders who don’t attend any other show apart from elektrotechnik – and that goes for exhibitors and visitors alike. This is certainly also due to our huge catchment area in North Rhine Westphalia. Personally, though, I think the ongoing evolution of our subject matter and content approach at the show is really important. As a trade association, we’re responsible for the supporting programme, which is an increasingly valuable enrichment for exhibitors and visitors with attractive specialist forums and special events on future technologies. This approach, combined with the proximity of a regional trade show making it easy for the electrical trade, industry, wholesalers, energy suppliers and local authorities to make contact with manufacturers and suppliers while at the same time providing a compact overview of the wide range of products and services on offer in the sector, has proven to be enduringly successful.”

Visitor satisfaction was already high at the last show, with 94% satisfied or very satisfied with their participation, and with nearly 89% planning to return in 2025. Sabine Loos, Managing Director of Westfalenhallen Unternehmensgruppe which owns and operates the Messe Dortmund venue, explains what these figures mean for the organisers: “Especially with a show that’s become as established as elektrotechnik over the years, we feel a great incentive to inspire exhibitors and visitors anew every time. New concepts, new big-name exhibitors, high-quality content and concentrated expertise are what visitors and exhibitors expect us to deliver, and we want to meet these expectations to the full again – or even exceed them – in 2025!”

All key information, updates and developments concerning the show can be found 24/7 on Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn and the show’s website, and also via newsletter.

EXHIBITION AT GLANCE

ELEKTROTECHNIK – TRADE FAIR FOR BUILDING SERVICES, INDUSTRIAL, ENERGY AND LIGHTING APPLICATIONS
For over 50 years, elektrotechnik has had its finger on the pulse as a central meeting place for the industry.  This trend-setting fair, held every two years at Dortmund Exhibition Centre, creates an attractive marketplace for manufacturers, wholesalers, service providers and tradespeople, and for those engaged in research and development. Rarely before has the industry been changing as quickly and rapidly as it is now – in times of digitalisation, the Smart Factory and Smart Home revolutions, and given the increasing overlap between manufacturers and tradespeople. These are changes that the fair takes into account, with (among other things) its key emphasis on building, lighting and power management equipment, and industrial technology.
