GoodWe introduced their new energy storage system during a launch event in Amsterdam, Netherlands, emphasizing silent and smart operation supported by advanced safety features and simple installation. The residential ESA-Series All-in-One devices combine a high-performance inverter with storage modules and an intelligent energy management system, offering full control for residential energy needs. It is also world’s first to earn a Grade A Low-Noise Certification. GoodWe is exhibiting the ESA-Series at the Solar Solutions Amsterdam exhibition and will bring the product to market Europe-wide in March of 2026.

As part of the launch event, the manufacturer gave an in-depth presentation about the design approach and focused on the product characteristics introduced as the 4S-concept: Silent, Smart, Secure and Simple.

A Quiet Runner

With sound as a major concern for the integration of technology in the residential space, ESA manages to run as low as 30dB* operating noise. The low sound profile of the unit is enabled by custom low-noise fans, real-time adaptation to operating conditions and ultra silent mode that can be activated by the user.

These specifications have earned the ESA-Series the world’s first “Highest Grade Low-Noise Performance Certification” issued by TÜV Rheinland. The certificate was handed over during the launch event in Amsterdam on Tuesday.

“It does not matter how efficient and innovative a new technology is, if it is inconvenient and noisy. With the ESA, GoodWe managed to bring both high-tech and user-centric design together. We see a huge demand for smart energy that integrates seamlessly into people’s homes, and we are excited to support our partners and customers with this new product,” says Max Zhou, Regional Director of GoodWe.

Smart Hub

Intelligent operation is built both into the device as well as the management software, the recently introduced SEMS+ app. The Smart Energy Management System combines functionalities for product management, comprehensive generation and consumption data visuals, and optional AI supported operation. It helps customers to get the most out of their electricity contracts in combination with local generation, storage and connected loads. The app also fully supports smart power import and export management when combined with GoodWe’s residential AI solution EZManager3000.

With interconnection and smart operation of the power system as a cornerstone of GoodWe’s strategy, the EZManager3000 acts as a central hub that integrates over 13 device categories. Spanning both the GoodWe ecosystem and compatible third-party equipment, the SEMS+ app provides clear and intuitive visibility into connected assets.

Simply Flexible

The three-phase ESA-Series from GoodWe is available with different power levels from 5 kW to 30 kW featuring up to four MPPT’s and three to six strings for PV input, depending on the system. The inverter unit can be combined with up to 12 battery modules for up to 108 kWh energy storage capacity. The battery modules can be combined and expanded freely and are available with 5 or 8 kWh capacity at 1C charging/discharging as well as 6 or 9 kWh capacity at 0.5C charging/discharging.

Up to six ESA three-phase systems can operate in parallel on- and off-grid, making it well suited for both residential and small commercial & industrial applications.

“Our installer partners are increasingly asking for systems that are easier to install and manage. The ESA series was designed with exactly these needs in mind. With a robust exterior, removable handles and reasonable weight, the system stacks as easy as legos.” said David Wijnandts, Key Account Manager at GoodWe Benelux.

As a result of the system architecture, installation takes no more than ten minutes. Pack-level plug and play, quick and easy installation of CT and dual port design without requirement for an external STS make installation faster and simpler, compared to traditional residential energy storage systems.

Support for 21A per string PV input and up to 200% PV oversizing means the system can be combined with newest high-power modules, capturing more solar energy for modern households. At 200% PV input, the integrated system enables 100% battery charging and 100% AC output at the same time for maximized self-consumption.

Safe Operation with Full Backup

For product safety, GoodWe implemented their proven six-layer safety architecture, offering protection from cell to system level. The comprehensive safety mechanisms include battery management, thermal monitoring, fire protection and electrical protection like Type I+II surge protection (SPD). In an emergency, integrated pressure relief and aerosol-based fire extinguishing provide additional system safety.

The ESA-Series supports full backup operation with a switching time below 4ms for seamless electricity during a grid-outage. Models with up to 20 kW offer 63 A bypass current for backup loads, the higher power models with 25 to 30 kW offer up to 80 A, enough to meet the demand of most homes.

The new energy paradigm

GoodWe labels the ESA-Series as the culmination of their residential renewable energy strategy, noting that the smart integration of power generation, storage, grid and load is the key to serving modern homes. In combination with easy installation of the All-in-One concept and ultra quiet operation, the ESA has the potential to make a lasting impact on renewable energy in homes around Europe.
