The company has assembled a total of 380 MW in the country so far
October 2018. GES is already working on the installation of a 263 MW windfarm 25 km from Ras Ghareb (Egypt). The project will have three phases that will be executed during the remainder of 2018 and the first semester of 2019.
This will be the first wind farm executed under a BOO scheme (Build, Own and Operate) and is part of the Egyptian government’s drive to increase the proportion of renewables in the mix energy, with a target for wind generation of 7 GW in 2022. The plan contemplates an important participation of the private sector, which will reach 60% of the plan. The energy produced in the project will be sold under a PPA (Power Purchase Agreement) to the EETC (Egyptian)
GES will be responsible for the assembly of the 125 turbines of 2.1 MW that will make up the park. The extensive experience with which the company counts in Egypt and the good work done in previous projects in the same area, have been the great strengths of GES for the awarding of this project. Over the last few years GES has consolidated a local installation team that allows the successful execution of upcoming projects.
GES was established in Egypt in 2006 and since then, it has undertaken construction projects for a total of 320 MW, another 380 MW in turbine installation and provides maintenance services as well.
