• This volume of projects will represent a 46% increase in the workforce in Spain, from 65 to close to 100 people.
• In the short term, GES plans to recover its presence in Chile, Mexico and Egypt, and to enter the Moroccan market.
Madrid, 20th March 2025. The integral provider of engineering, construction and renewable energy services GES – Global Energy Services plans to install more than 100 wind turbines worldwide during 2025, with a combined capacity of at least 421 MW according to the contracts it has signed during the first quarter of the year. These figures represent a turnover of more than 12 million euros in the wind turbine assembly business and an increase in the installation activity compared to 2024. In fact, it will represent an increase of 17% over last year’s installed capacity, which was 350 MW.
These figures reveal a very positive year 2025 for the installation business, both in terms of turnover and participation in new markets. In fact, the wind assembly operations will be mainly targeting markets such as France, Italy, Germany and Spain in Europe, and also Mexico, where the company will restore its presence in the Central American country. So far, GES has signed contracts with leading international technologists for the installation of turbines in at least 28 wind farms in these countries and the execution of major corrective works in Mexico.
GES is a trusted installation partner for the leading technologists and its client portfolio includes the main manufacturers in the European, American and Chinese markets. The transversality it has acquired with its new Services division, which integrates the installation and maintenance business, has enabled GES to also execute major corrective works for other technologists with turbines that have already been installed or are subjected to a revamping programme.
Job creation opportunities
The amount of projects closed this year will require a significant increase in the workforce of the company in Spain, which will almost double the direct employment of technical staff. By the beginning of the year, the company’s technical staff was composed of 65 people and it is expected that this figure increases by 46% to reach almost 100 positions by the end of the year, as well as new hires of specialised personnel in order to meet the demand of the projects.
Furthermore, with regard to short- and medium-term expectations, GES plans to scale up repowering activities, dismantling old wind turbines and disposing of these materials, either as waste or as a replacement material.
International expansión
In line with its geographic expansion plans, the forecast for 2026 in terms of wind turbine assembly is to recover its presence in the Latin American market with projects in Chile and Mexico; in Egypt, with a large project in the pipeline; and to enter the Moroccan market through a partnership agreement with a local company that will require the installation of turbines beginning in 2026.
If the forecasts are met with the current projects in GES’s portfolio for 2026, the outlook for the next two years is very promising in both the domestic and international markets, where major wind power projects are being outlined. These figures consolidate GES as a national and international benchmark supplier in engineering, construction and services for renewable energies.
