Wind turbines are inspected and serviced at regular intervals, generally over a period of at least 20 years. It goes without saying that these activities take place in the open air, both onshore and offshore. It is thus essential to guarantee a safe working environment for the service technicians. The access systems and training concepts play a key role in this. At WindEnergy 2016, the leading international trade fair for the wind sector that takes place in Hamburg from 27 to 30 September, Hailo Wind Systems will therefore be showing numerous exhibits and world firsts for the international wind energy industry at Booth A402 in Hall A4. They include new product launches and innovations in the areas of climb assist systems and training services that meet the highest safety standards and make working in wind farms more convenient.
One special highlight at the 73-m² stand this year is a multifunctional training tower. Measuring 9 m² and almost 5.5 metres high, it is equipped with five tracks with different fall arrest systems and two new climb assist systems, including the new E-Lift.
On the outside and in the middle of the training tower, various rescue exercises will be simulated on the ladders and service lift. The TOPlift L2 service lift has been specially clad in transparent Makrolon for the occasion, ensuring that all the rescue procedures and manoeuvres are clearly visible from the outside. The team of the GWO-certified Safety And Rescue Academy (S.A.R.A.) will even be demonstrating a rescue during the ascent or descent of a wind turbine, e.g. in the case of injury or fainting.
