Today, Kincardine Offshore Windfarm Ltd (KOWL) confirmed that the first turbine has started generating power from what will be the world’s largest floating offshore wind farm.
Responding, Fabrice Leveque, Senior Policy Manager at Scottish Renewables, said:“Today’s announcement of first power from the Kincardine Offshore Windfarm marks another milestone for the exciting floating wind sector.
“Floating offshore wind power provides a way to tap the enormous potential of the world’s deeper waters.
“With our incredible offshore wind resource and established offshore supply chain, Scotland has a unique opportunity to reap the economic benefits of this emerging technology, and today’s announcement shows we’re now taking great strides towards doing that.”
