FIMER SIGNS A JOINT VENTURE AGREEMENT IN ALGERIA WITH ENIE (THE NATIONAL ENTITY FOR ELECTRONIC INDUSTRIES), A HOLDING OF THE ELEC EL DJAZAIR GROUP

The agreement means that FIMER, the leading solar and e-mobility company, is officially the only local manufacturer of photovoltaic inverters for the Algerian market.

Thanks to the agreement signed on December 14th 2021, FIMER and ENIE will collaborate on the local production of photovoltaic inverters to support all national government tenders and the free market, with the aim of achieving a local installed base of 13 GW within 2030.

The partnership will start in 2022. The main production hub will remain in Italy, including the manufacturing and assembly of electronic components, while the assembly of the remaining parts of the inverters and final tests will be handled by ENIE in Algeria.

“We are happy to officialize this joint venture with ENIE, after years of hard work” commented Ambrogio Carzaniga – Board Member of FIMER – who added: “this partnership confirms FIMER’s constant commitment to adapting its business model to the different needs of the market. It also contributes in increasing the presence of Italian companies of excellence in Algeria – and, in general, throughout the area commonly known as Maghreb – favoring the Italian – Algerian trade balance, as well as expanding Italy’s presence in the North African geo-political chessboard.”

The contract was signed in the city of Sidi Belabes, by the CEO of ENIE and Salah Ali Aoudia, FIMER’s representative in Algeria. The signing of the agreement also took place in the presence of the Minister of Industry, Ahmed Zghdar, the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Abdelbaki Benzeyane, and the Minister of Energy Transition and Renewable Energy, Ben Attou Zayan.

It is a “concrete testimony of the collaboration between companies in the renewable energy sector”, writes the Italian embassy via Twitter.
