Spain – September 29th, 2026. Fersa, the Spanish company specialised in the design, manufacture and distribution of high-performance bearings, continues to advance in its international expansion with the opening of a new factory in Monterrey, Mexico.
The new plant, which began operations at the end of July this year, is located in the FINSA Apodaca Industrial Park in Monterrey, a strategic industrial area close to the airport and to major logistics connections in the Mexican state of Nuevo León.
This location allows Fersa to operate closer to its customers in North America, reduce response times and strengthen its local collaboration model with original equipment manufacturers (OEMs), Tier 1 suppliers and aftermarket customers.
A new production centre for the North American market
The Monterrey factory begins operations with a tapered roller bearing manufacturing line, mainly intended for heavy-duty automotive applications.
According to Carlos Oehling, president of the multinational company, “with this new factory, we want to be closer to our customers in North America, gain proximity and reinforce our response capacity in a strategic market for Fersa.”
The project represents a new step in the company’s strategy to “move towards a more flexible, competitive and resilient supply chain,” he adds. Local production in Mexico helps reduce dependence on imports from other regions, improve supply continuity and offer a more agile response to the needs of OEM and aftermarket customers in countries such as the United States, Mexico and Canada.
Thanks to the opening of the new factory in Monterrey, Fersa currently has a team of around 50 people in Mexico, including the production staff at the new plant and the administrative-commercial and logistics team located in Guadalajara, in the state of Jalisco, which has been part of the group since 2022.
The factory team has been hired locally in Mexico and received specific training at Fersa facilities in Spain before the start of production. In addition, the project involved Spanish process teams during the installation and start-up phases, ensuring a solid industrial launch aligned with the company’s global production and quality standards.
Industrial growth plan in North America
The opening of Monterrey marks the beginning of a growth roadmap for Fersa’s industrial capabilities in North America. In its current phase, the plant operates with one manufacturing line and an approximate capacity of 500,000 sets per year.
By the end of 2026, Fersa is working on the incorporation of an additional assembly line for clutch actuators, with an expected capacity of 5,000 units per month. In 2027, the company plans to add a second manufacturing line with similar characteristics to the current one, which will allow it to reach a total approximate capacity of one million sets per year, in addition to the production of clutch actuators.
This plan will allow Fersa to progressively strengthen its local production capacity, expand its offering for heavy-duty automotive applications and consolidate its position as an industrial partner for the North American market.
Commitment to the region
The new Monterrey factory reaffirms Fersa’s commitment to local production, industrial innovation and the creation of specialised employment in Mexico. The company thus strengthens its ability to support customers with competitive solutions, greater technical proximity and a more agile supply chain.
