Enviromena, a leading UK-based independent power producer, has acquired the fully consented Rock Farm – a 40MW (AC) solar farm project located near Ludlow, Shropshire.
Acquired from Anglo Renewables, the project, which also provides the option for the co-location of battery storage, represents another major milestone in Enviromena’s commitment to delivering high-quality renewable infrastructure across the UK.
With a Contract for Difference (CfD) secured in Allocation Round 6, the project provides vital price certainty while supporting the national Clean Power 2030 ambitions.
Rock Farm will generate enough clean electricity to power the equivalent of over 16,000 homes annually and will avoid over 7,500 tonnes of carbon emissions each year.
Scheduled to connect to the grid in 2026, the site will deliver lasting environmental enhancements, including the planting of new trees and hedgerows, wildflower meadows and the continuation of sheep grazing. Together, these measures will ensure the solar farm supports local wildlife and integrates sensitively with the surrounding countryside.
In addition to the project’s strong environmental credentials, the scheme will also directly support initiatives in the local area via a community benefit fund which has been agreed with the local community.
Chris Marsh, CEO of Enviromena, commented: “Rock Farm is a fantastic addition to our growing portfolio of utility-scale UK solar projects. The project’s state of readiness with grid connection confirmed in 2026, coupled with the CfD contract strongly aligns with Enviromena’s commitment to developing sustainable, long-term infrastructure projects underpinned by investment-grade offtakers.”
“I’d like thank Anglo Renewables for working with us on this transaction, and look forward to delivering a project that supports both the local community and the UK’s transition to a cleaner, more secure energy system.”
James Stone, Managing Director of Anglo Renewables said: “We are delighted to complete the sale of Rock Farm to Enviromena and now look forward to seeing the project go forward into construction and start delivering benefits.”
“We have enjoyed working with the Enviromena team on the transaction and now look forward to witnessing the progress of the project in the coming months.”
This acquisition, which follows hot on the heels of Steeraway Solar Farm in June, reinforces Enviromena’s commitment to deploying sustainable, long-term infrastructure that supports local economies, enhances biodiversity, and helps decarbonise the electricity network.
