With the new plant in Salalah, Ecoprogetti now covers the entire territory of Oman, becoming the market leader in local photovoltaic module manufacturing.

Ecoprogetti an Italian company and a leading manufacturer of turnkey production lines and equipment for the manufacturing and recycling of photovoltaic modules, has successfully completed the installation and ramp-up of a new fully automaƟc 400 MW production line in Salalah, in the southern region of Oman.

This strategic project strengthens Ecoprogetti's long-term presence in the Middle East and consolidates its role as a key technology supplier for the country’s photovoltaic industry, at a time of strong growth in the renewable energy sector.

Thanks to one of the world’s highest solar irradiance levels — 5–7 kWh/m²/day according to Ecomena — and a national peak power demand of around 7,500 MW (EDF Renewables), Oman is today one of the most promising solar markets in the Gulf region. It is therefore no surprise that the share of renewable energy in the national power mix has already risen to 21% in 2025, up from 9%
the previous year (PV Knowhow), confirming the country’s ongoing transition towards a sustainable energy future.

Following the success of the Sheida Solar line installed in Sohar, in northern Oman, the new Salalah plant expands production capacity to the southern region near the Yemeni border, ensuring complete coverage of the national market. With both plants now fully operational, Ecoprogetti holds the majority of the Omani market share for photovoltaic module manufacturing — confirming the trust placed in Italian technology and engineering, as well as the reliability of European solutions.

The new 400 MW line delivered to the local customer American Advanced Clean Energy (AACE) was entirely designed and built in Italy. It integrates the most advanced technologies for assembling TOPCon and HJT modules, featuring full automation that covers every stage of the process — from stringing and lay-up to lamination, framing, testing, and the most advanced quality inspection
systems. The result is a high-productivity, quality-oriented system that is flexible and adaptable to evolving technologies and market needs.

Advanced American Clean Energy Company (AACE) is a highly specialized U.S. photovoltaic module manufacturer with production facilities located in Oman. The country’s Free Trade Agreement with the United States provides AACE with preferential access for exporting its modules to the U.S. market. The United States remains one of the largest and fastest-growing solar markets globally,
while its international solar supply chain continues to face uncertainty. In this context, AACE’s strategic manufacturing footprint in Oman offers significant competitive advantages.

AACE further distinguishes itself through its dedicated Research & Development division, setting it apart from standard solar module manufacturers. Its modules are UL and IEC certified and compete effectively with the world’s leading producers.

According to AACE’s CEO, Mr. Mohamed Hauter, the company positions itself not only as a manufacturer, but as a true innovation hub. “AACE is a powerhouse driven by a team of some of the world’s top scientists, fully dedicated to advancing photovoltaic technologies,” he stated. He further emphasized that the company’s strategy is strongly focused on vertical expansion, with the clear objective of rapidly positioning AACE among the world’s most recognized providers of innovative and high-performance solar solutions.

“This new installation marks another important milestone in our collaboration with our Omani partners,” said Laura Sartore, CEO of Ecoprogtti. “With two plants now operating from north to south, Ecoprogeƫ is proud to support the growth of the local photovoltaic value chain and the country’s vision for a sustainable energy future.” She added, “At Ecoprogtti, our technical solutions are designed both for new manufacturers and for existing ones who aim to achieve the highest level of automation, the lowest operating costs, and the most accurate process quality monitoring. We empower those who truly want to lead technological innovation in solar manufacturing, ensuring a strong competitive advantage for any new player entering the solar market.”

Aligned with Oman’s national renewable energy strategy, the Salalah plant contributes to strengthening the country’s role as a strategic hub for photovoltaic module manufacturing and export across the Gulf region, reducing dependence on imports and enhancing local industrial know-how.

Ecoprogtti currently has installed the largest number of PV module manufacturing lines in the GCC and holds more than 50% of the GCC market share, with PV lines located across the UAE (Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Ras Al Khaimah, and Fujairah) as well as in Saudi Arabia and Bahrain. With its service center and spare-parts warehouse located in Sharjah (UAE), Ecoprogeƫ ensures proper training, PV process technical support, and prompt maintenance services to all its customers’ factories in the Gulf, supporting the ongoing expansion of solar manufacturing throughout the region.
