Connecting Battery Storage Systems To The Solar Log

Solare Datensysteme GmbH (SDS), together with Phono Solar Technology Co., Ltd. , developed a new solution to visualize storage systems. The Solar-LogTM system can now visual important data and values from battery storage systems.

Battery systems are the most effective solution for the flexible use of PV electricity. A major benefit: The electricity can be stored and then used later regardless of the time of day or amount of sun. By connecting the PhonoCube hybrid system to the Solar-LogTM energy management system, all of the important data and values from the storage medium are visualized. All of the measured values such as the battery voltage, current charge level and unloading capacity are directly available in the Solar-LogTM web interface. As a helpful analysis option, the current charge is displayed as well as the charge history for the last seven days.

Diagnostic Functions to increase the Degree of Self-Sufficiency
The Solar-LogTM provides the user additional information from the storage medium to assist in using the battery solution more effectively. Important components here are the electricity savings from using the battery and the efficiency of the battery solution itself. The user sees energy usage from the battery, and the savings of using that instead of purchasing electricity from the grid.

Combining Classic Monitoring and Energy Management
Combining the Solar-LogTMsystem with the PhonoCube not only provides visualization of the energy flows, but also offers professional monitoring for PV plants. To implement monitoring and visualization of the storage medium, the hybrid inverter PhonoCube 7.2 has an interface to connect directly to the Solar-LogTM energy management system, allowing both systems to directly communicate with each other.
