Centrosolar receives Plus X Award for clever energy management system

Cenpilot impresses in the categories of innovation, functionality and ecology

Centrosolar has been awarded the Plus X Award for the newly developed Cenpilot energy management system. This system impressed the panel in the categories of innovation, functionality and ecology. The Plus X Award is the world’s biggest prize for innovative technologies, sports and lifestyle products. Centrosolar takes its place among prize winners from previous years including BMW, Porsche, Apple, Dyson, Bose and Gira.

Cenpilot is a Centrosolar innovation that will come into the market in September 2012. Cenpilot is a clever energy management system that serves as the control and communication nerve centre for all household appliances in combination with a photovoltaic system. The device can be linked up to electric household appliances, measure the individual appliances’ power consumption and manage them automatically. Cenpilot integrates household appliances into the smart grid.

The Plus X Award has been awarded to the most innovative manufacturers from different industries since 2004. The award distinguishes products that are innovative and viable for the future and that possess at least one ‘Plus X’ factor – the additional value of a product. A panel of 130 industry experts and trade journalists award the seal of quality in the following categories: innovation, high quality, design, ease of use, functionality, ergonomics and ecology.
