ASTORIOS Unveils Uzbekistan’s Largest Solar Carport

ASTORIOS Holding Inc., a US-based international renewable energy company, announces the launch of Uzbekistan’s largest solar carport, reinforcing the country’s commitment to sustainable energy. In recent years, Uzbekistan has experienced significant growth in solar initiatives, aiming to achieve 7 GW of solar power by 2030.

With abundant renewable energy potential, particularly in solar, the country’s government has actively promoted the integration of renewables and private sector involvement. ASTORIOS, operating in Uzbekistan since 2020, is contributing to this momentum.

The new 343 kWp photovoltaic car parking facility generates solar power for Chimgan Mall, located in the capital of Uzbekistan, Tashkent. The mall covers 22,000 sq. m and features over 50 local and international brand shops, furniture store, a food court, a cinema, and entertainment zones.

ASTORIOS’s commitment extends beyond this project, with a 2 MW photovoltaic system and 2 MW battery storage installation on the world’s largest rabbit breeding cluster. The farm is located in the Tashkent region. The solar and storage project is set to be finished in January 2024, being the largest private business-owned battery storage in the country.
