Mexico City, August 26, 2025 – Intersolar Mexico, the pioneering event in the solar industry, will be held for the sixth time from September 2–4, 2025, at Centro Banamex in Mexico City. With a focus on photovoltaic, solar thermal, and energy storage technologies, it has established itself as the leading B2B platform for solutions and networking in the Mexican solar market.
Against the backdrop of the Federal Electricity Commission’s (CFE) announcement of a historic USD 8.177 billion investment to expand the transmission grid, Intersolar Mexico becomes an essential meeting point to analyze how this infrastructure will enhance renewable energy integration, attract investment, strengthen nearshoring, and open new opportunities for the country’s energy development, among other key topics.
The official presentation of the event featured prominent industry leaders: Matilde Saldivar, Show Director at Informa Markets; Marisol Oropeza, Spokesperson for Intersolar Mexico; Valeria Amezcua, President of the Mexican Agrovoltaic Network and Félix Delgado, Research Analyst, Solar PV LatAm | Power & Renewables at Wood Mackenzie.
Matilde Saldivar announced that Intersolar Mexico will take place simultaneously with The Green Expo® and Aquatech Mexico, co-located events that together form the largest gathering of renewable energy and clean technology professionals in Mexico.
“This year we will bring together more than 400 national and international companies presenting a comprehensive portfolio of solutions for the industrial, commercial, and governmental sectors, with the goal of optimizing processes and strengthening competitiveness. We also expect more than 10,000 professionals from diverse industries to attend,” explained Saldivar.
According to Marisol Oropeza, the Intersolar Mexico Conference, to be held on September 2, 3, and 4, will serve as a key platform to foster dialogue on Mexico’s energy sector and promote deeper discussions on the development of the solar industry.
More than 30 experts will contribute their specialized knowledge and strategic perspectives through conferences and panels. The strength of the program lies in its diversity, bringing together technical, business, academic, and policy viewpoints to analyze the present and future of the industry at a decisive moment for the country, especially in light of potential policy changes that could advance the adoption of solar and storage technologies. The majority participation of women experts in the sector stands out.
Meanwhile, at the Intersolar Stage, exhibitors and partner organizations will deliver presentations free of charge highlighting products and services with strong implementation potential. This space will also host daily technical workshops on solar thermal, electrical storage and photovoltaics, along with networking sessions.
The sixth edition of Intersolar Mexico will also feature the Innovation Forum, a space where presentations about cutting-edge technologies, new developments, and research projects for the Mexican market will be held also free of charge.
Valeria Amezcua emphasized that agrovoltaics aim to be a sustainable and holistic solution to address climate change, preserve biodiversity, reduce land-use change, increase freshwater availability, and even promote agroecological and sustainable programs aligned with global needs.
“Maximizing land use has become a priority in many countries, and in Mexico we are already working in different states to develop projects that combine agricultural production with clean energy generation, seeking to deliver significant economic, social, and environmental benefits,” said Amezcua.
Félix Delgado noted that Mexico did not reach its target of generating 35% of its electricity from clean energy sources by 2024. However, the country now has the opportunity to accelerate its energy transition, with plans underway to add between 13.6 GW and 16.7 GW of new renewable capacity by 2030.
“Mexico’s energy challenge is no longer just about increasing capacity, but ensuring that clean energy reaches all productive sectors under clear rules and with a robust grid. The nearshoring boom demands reliable and competitive electricity. Distributed and solar generation will be key to ensuring that the country does not miss this historic window of industrial development,” Delgado emphasized.
In this way, Intersolar Mexico will be a strategic gathering for the solar industry, bringing together leading voices to ensure an enriching, interdisciplinary dialogue oriented toward concrete solutions to maximize the solar potential of Mexico and Latin America.
Organized by Solar Promotion International GmbH, Freiburg Management and Marketing International GmbH (FMMI), and Informa Markets, the event promotes sustainability comprehensively—from the construction of exhibition stands that prioritize recyclable, reusable, and durable materials, to the curation of conferences and activities addressing innovation, clean energy, and sustainable development. These efforts not only aim to minimize environmental impact but also inspire the industry to adopt more responsible practices, generate a positive community impact, and strengthen exhibitors’ and visitors’ commitment to social and environmental responsibility.
