AERO Flight Intelligence System wins Product Innovation of the Year award at the „German Renewable Award“

Linz/Hamburg, December 04th, 2024

The AERO Flight Intelligence System has been named the winner of the “Product Innovation of the Year” award at the German Renewables Award.

  • Innovative AERO Flight Intelligence System impresses the jury of the Hamburg Renewable Energy Cluster (EEHH)

Since 2012, the Renewable Energy Hamburg Cluster (EEHH) has been recognizing the renewable energy sector with awards for the best products, innovations, and projects of the year.

Hamburg-based Buss Energy Group GmbH, business owner and sales partner of Aero Enterprise, joined Aero Enterprise in accepting the award on November 21, 2024, in Hamburg.

“The jury chose the system for its ability to preserve wind turbines and for its cost efficiency,” said Dr. Ursula Prall, Managing Director of cruh 21, about the award-winning AERO Flight Intelligence System.

Jan Gerd Müller of Buss Energy Group and Peter Fromme-Koch of Aero Enterprise commented:

“Our teams are very proud of this outstanding recognition. This once again brings a ‘fresh wind’ to our development activities, which we continuously advance with great effort. We live in a very dynamic and exciting time for technological innovations, in which many companies are launching various products and services for wind energy. This award strengthens our position as a key innovator in wind energy inspection technology.”

Innovative Drone Inspection for Wind Turbines

The AERO Flight Intelligence System enables a complete inspection of wind turbines (all four sides of the three rotor blades) in a single flight, making the process significantly more efficient for both onshore and offshore operations.

The groundbreaking AERO Flight Intelligence algorithms calculate the flight route in real-time, eliminating the need for prior turbine information to conduct an inspection. High-resolution images and data are achieved through an autonomous and adaptive inspection flight, with the drone equipped with the AERO Flight Intelligence System maintaining an optimal distance from the turbine.

After a brief pilot training session, full inspection campaigns can be carried out efficiently and with minimal effort. The image data can be uploaded to the AERO Cloud directly on-site. Damage data analysis, interpretation, and visualization on the AERO Customer Dashboard complete the inspection service as a comprehensive package.

In 2024, more than 50 new Flight Intelligence Systems were manufactured and distributed worldwide for leading inspection and drone service providers, capturing high-quality image data from thousands of wind turbines for further processing.

The AERO Flight Intelligence System is designed for use with DJI M300/350-series drones.
