PES Solar caught up with Marco Falorni of WeCo – Energy Storage during KEY Energy 2026 in Rimini to discuss the company’s latest modular energy storage solutions and how simplified installation is helping accelerate deployment across residential and commercial markets.
The Italian manufacturer, which has spent more than 15 years developing both on-grid and off-grid storage systems, is focused on simplifying installation while giving installers greater flexibility when deploying systems in the field.
One of the highlights presented at the event is a modular residential storage system built around 5 kWh battery modules, designed to integrate with the inverter in just over one hour. The system supports both single-phase and three-phase installations, offering power outputs of up to 6 kW in single phase and 15 kW in three phase, with storage capacity scalable from 5 kWh to 60 kWh.
By reducing installation time and simplifying system integration, WeCo – Energy Storage aims to help installers deploy systems more efficiently while lowering overall installation costs.
The company also places strong emphasis on data security and European data control, with its monitoring app and cloud services hosted in Frankfurt. All software is developed in-house, allowing WeCo to maintain full control over system data without relying on third-party providers.
Alongside the residential solution, WeCo also introduced its Hybo modular cabinet, designed for commercial and industrial energy storage applications. The cabinet supports configurations starting from 120 kW of output power and scaling up to 300 kW per unit, with integrated protection systems, breakers, meters and junction panels to simplify deployment on site.
Each system is assembled and fully tested at WeCo’s manufacturing facility in Florence before being shipped, allowing installers to complete final connections quickly once the system arrives on location.
With integrated energy management software and remote monitoring capabilities, the platform supports multiple operating modes including self-consumption, time-of-use optimisation and backup power, giving users flexibility in how energy storage is deployed.
As energy storage continues to expand across residential and commercial markets, solutions that simplify installation and system management are becoming an increasingly important part of the solar ecosystem.
