Ironworkers Union Powers Offshore Wind Workforce | In Conversation Ep. 52

Published in: Wind, In Conversation

Alexander Barham, Trade Instructor at Ironworkers Local 5, met with Stefann Perrigot, Director at PES Wind, during the IPF25 in Virginia Beach.

Through their GWO-accredited training facility, the Ironworkers Union is equipping a new generation of skilled professionals with the tools and knowledge needed for both traditional ironwork—like steel erection, rigging, and ornamental fabrication—and the specialized demands of offshore wind construction.

By combining apprenticeship programs with real-world, cross-industry training, the Ironworkers Union is creating a pipeline of qualified, job-ready workers capable of supporting America’s growing offshore wind sector. Their message is clear: workforce readiness is critical to building a sustainable clean energy future.
