How JinkoSolar Europe Leads the Clean Energy Transition | In Conversation

Published in: Solar, In Conversation

At Intersolar, PES Solar caught up with Neil Smith, UK and Ireland Country Manager at JinkoSolar Europe , to discuss the company’s 20-year milestone and its latest technological advancements.

JinkoSolar Europe introduced its new Neo3 modules, which feature quarter-cut cells that reduce resistance, enhance low-light performance, and deliver a higher energy yield. Alongside solar technology, the company is rapidly expanding into utility-scale and C&I energy storage. Smith highlighted the major benefits of co-locating batteries with solar assets, including optimized grid usage, shared infrastructure costs, and a strong hedge against solar intermittency. This strategy has already proven successful for Jinko in the UK, where they power two sites combining 300 MWh of battery storage with 100 MW of solar.

Neil Smith noted that with stabilizing manufacturing prices, global clients increasingly prioritize long-term warranties, bankability, and ESG compliance. As solar remains the cheapest form of electricity generation on earth, Jinko continues to focus on global carbon reduction and grid security.
