PES Solar spoke with Idilio Cuiffarella of EcoFlow at KEY Energy 2026 in Rimini to discuss the company’s latest residential energy storage developments and its focus on product and service innovation.
At the event, EcoFlow introduced the next generation of its home energy storage system, featuring a redesigned 5 kWh battery module with reduced size and weight, alongside significant performance improvements. The updated system increases battery lifecycle from 6,000 to 10,000 cycles, while also improving durability with a higher IP66 protection rating.
The platform has been designed with flexibility in mind, allowing integration between new and existing battery modules, while also incorporating built-in backup and battery management systems within each unit.
Alongside hardware improvements, EcoFlow is placing strong emphasis on software and user experience. The system includes a dedicated interface, accessible via a wall-mounted tablet, enabling real-time monitoring and control of energy usage. A virtual assistant is also integrated into the platform, designed to adapt to user energy behaviour and provide intelligent insights.
Service and support remain a key part of EcoFlow’s positioning, with direct access to engineering teams and local support networks designed to improve responsiveness and customer experience.
As residential energy systems continue to evolve, solutions that combine performance, flexibility and intelligent energy management are becoming an increasingly important part of the solar and storage landscape.
