Wind turbine blade repairs can be highly sensitive to temperature, humidity and other environmental conditions, making weather a significant factor in maintenance planning.
At WindEnergy Hamburg, PES Wind spoke with Konrad Kosmala, CEO & Founder at BladeTent, about an inflatable, sealed habitat designed to create controlled conditions around blades during repair work.
Konrad explained how the system can control temperature and humidity and filter the air, allowing technicians to carry out repairs where blades are stored rather than moving them to a dedicated repair facility. The approach is intended for blade repair teams, original equipment manufacturers and operations and maintenance providers.
