Victoria Redhead is no stranger to adrenaline, after being appointed as a trainee instructor at Maersk Training in North Shields.
The North-Shields based company has welcomed Victoria on-board as it seeks to find other talented individuals who can learn a valued skill-set and become fully qualified instructors.
Victoria follows in the footsteps of Lynn Lowes who was appointed as the company’s first female instructor to its wind energy division in 2013.
The 24-year old, from Cramlington, Northumberland, has previous expertise as a call handler dealing with both emergency and non-emergency calls, whilst also acting as a community first response volunteer at North East Ambulance Service.
This, combined with her work as a firefighter for Northumberland Fire and Rescue Service, stood her in good stead for the position.
Victoria, said: “The opportunities at Maersk really appealed to me, as a trainee instructor you are learning and enhancing your skill set all the time.
“The hours are flexible, catered to an instructor’s individual needs. This is ideal for me as I work as a freelancer combining my role as a trainee instructor alongside my position as a retained fire fighter.
