The giant turbine manufacturer, Nordex, is planning to convert into a European Company (SE)


Thomas Richterich: “New corporate status to reflect international footprint”

Hamburg, April 6, 2009. The Management Board and the Supervisory Board of Nordex AG have decided to ask the shareholders at the annual general meeting on May 26, 2009 to approve a resolution conver- ting Nordex Aktiengesellschaft into a European Company (Societas Europaea, SE)

with the name Nordex SE. The Company’s seat and head office will remain in Rostock and Norderstedt, respectively.

“The European Company is a modern corporate form which provides a special answer for the need for an open corporate culture and reflects the international footprint of our business,” explains Thomas Richterich, CEO of Nordex AG. At the same time, the European employees’ codetermination rights will be strengthened.

Nordex AG’s shareholders will be receiving detailed information on the item of the agenda addressing the planned corporate conversion together with the invitation to the annual general meeting during in the course of April.

Europe is Nordex AG’s home market: in 2008, it generated some 86% of its sales in this region; as of December 31, 2008, nearly 80% of its global headcount of 2,153 employees were based at the Group’s European companies.
