San Roque Project: Oversized pieces delivered.

Coordinadora’s team completed successfully the transportation process of 5 oversized pieces. The route the cargo followed began at the Port of Avilés, where the loading operations took place. The vessel, carrying the pieces, travelled approximately 800 NM -during 3 days- bound to Algeciras Bay. There, the cargo was unloaded into a vehicle that carried them 4 km to its destination in Cádiz: San Roque Refinery.

Among the 5 pieces of cargo, there was a Reactor with a weight of 187 tons -that measured 7.80 x 7.60 x 5.0 m- and a Regenerator of 50 tons -18.7 x 6.40 x 5.15 m-.
In fact, the criticality of the project was given by these dimentions, especially the height and width of the bigger pieces. During the last part of the transportation process, the cargo had to be carried through the town of Campamento, a small city located in Cádiz, between the port of arrival and the refinery.

It took several months of planning and route assessment to guarantee the safe arrival of the cargo to its destinantion. The tight schedule we had to keep also made it more complex, but applying our ETM work methodology we were able to overcame every challenge.
