Edwards, a leading global manufacturer of vacuum and abatement equipment and services, today officially opened its new $3.5 million North American headquarters in Sanborn, NY in Niagara County. The new facility is 64,000 square feet and will be home to production, engineering, customer care, administration, marketing and distribution services.

Officials from Edwards joined local, state and federal government, business and community officials to unveil the company’s new headquarters in Sanborn. The new facility is fully operational and employs 150 people.

“While Edwards has had a presence in North America for sixty years, and in Western New York since 1959, it was important to consolidate our operations to a central manufacturing location to maximize efficiencies and bring our talented workforce under one roof,” said Edwards Chief Executive Officer Matthew Taylor. “We are extremely grateful for the support we received from various entities, including New York State, Niagara County, the Niagara County Industrial Development Agency and Empire State Development to help us build this state-of-the-art and environmentally-friendly facility.”
“Our new North American headquarters and facility provides Edwards the opportunity to continue diversifying our technology base in growing and emerging industries such as solar energy, life sciences and the semiconductor sector,” Mr. Taylor continued. “Western New York has provided us with an outstanding workforce that allows us to build and strengthen our business in North America and further develop a platform for international growth.”

Among the elected officials at the grand opening event were United States Congresswoman Kathy Hochul; Sam Hoyt, Regional President of Empire State Development; New York State Senator George Maziarz; New York State Assemblyman John Ceretto; Niagara County Legislature Chairman Bill Ross; and Niagara County IDA Chairman Henry Sloma.
