PES: Welcome back to PES magazine. How’s business been since your last appearance – is the market performing much as your company had predicted?
Mikko Niininen: The business has been booming and we are still on a growth base. Happily, the outlook is even more promising for next year than it was last year – the wind power arena has good for us and is looking good for years to come.
PES: The company is enjoying a period of strong growth. What strategic decisions has the company taken to help it succeed in a difficult market?
MN: Peikko has always been a company with the customers needs as a first priority. This makes us easily approachable by the customer; flexible and easy to contact. This is especially good for the construction industry and has led to us expanding into 30 countries, with production bases in four European countries, plus China, the Middle East and the US. Peikko has always relied on its high expertise of connection technology. Naturally the people and their experise is important, but without the technology there is no Peikko. So it’s too strong to say that the expertise would be in the heart of our offering, the heart has to be the technology supported by global expertise in different areas.
