-100 kilowatt solar plant for self-consumption on commercial company’s roof
-Solar self-consumption for companies in Italy makes economic sense

[Pordenone, Italy / Thalheim, Germany, 27 August 2014] – Italian car dealer Autostar Spa will bank on self-consumption of solar electricity. A 100 kilowatt photovoltaic system on approximately 700 square meters of the company building’s roof has been connected to the grid. This plant will supply Autostar Spa with clean energy and thus reduce the factory’s operating costs. Hanwha Q CELLS, Europe’s largest photovoltaic provider, has delivered 396 Q.PRO-G3 solar modules of the 250 Watt power class. The rooftop plant was constructed by Omnia Energy Srl, a leading renewable energy company situated in the Friuli Venezia Giulia region. Construction took only two weeks. The self-consumption system will provide around 110,000 kilowatt-hours of clean electricity per year. Autostar will consume 85% of the energy produced on-site and thereby save around 83,850 kg CO2 emissions per year. The PV system allows the automotive company to cover 70% of its electricity requirements.
In Pordenone Hanwha Q CELLS again provides its state-of-the-art modules to cut commercial and industrial customers´ electricity bills. “We keep tabs on energy saving in times of climbing energy prices. We expect an energy cost reduction of about 54%” said Mr. Giorgio Bonutto, director at Autostar Spa. And Mr Stephane Moretti, owner at Omnia Energy, added: “We decided to use Hanwha Q CELLS as module provider, since we trust in Europe’s largest PV provider whose modules convinced with their high performance, reliability and technology level.” The project shows that photovoltaic plants in Italy still make economic sense despite the difficult market climate shaped by the Conto Energia act. “We are glad about this successful project. Small and medium-sized businesses in the Friuli region as well as in Italy can profit of a self-consumption plant if a high self-consumption is realized,” said Marco Dona, Head of Sales Italy at Hanwha Q CELLS.
