The company’s pioneering work became a key contributor to the rapid growth of the solar industry, allowing for validation and enforcement of incentive payment schemes around the world. To date, Draker’s monitoring and management systems have been deployed at over 1,700 solar PV sites with more than 1.8 GW under management. We spoke to the company’s CEO, Everett S. McGinley.

We appreciate that the company has a considerable footprint in the solar market, but would you like to introduce the company and explain how you serve the PV sector?
Everett S. McGinley: Draker was the first company in North America to provide independent monitoring and performance analysis of solar energy. We are currently a global leader in performance asset management of PV portfolios for large commercial, industrial and utility customers. We tailor solutions to our customers through leveraging technologies which will allow them to optimize the performance of their assets and lower operational costs.
PES: What’s the most successful area
of your operation?
EM: The most successful area of our operation is our ability to implement solutions that best complement the diverse needs of our clients. When it comes to complex systems that require more than a very simple, ‘cookie cutter’ monitoring solution, our clients regularly turn to us to solve their challenges. That has driven us to a unique history of field experience, problem solving and a large library of integration solutions that we believe is unparalleled in our industry.
We are able to seamlessly scale from small commercial-sized systems to large power plants with a proven, field-tested suite of solutions. Our customers value the quality of our solutions built on reliable hardware they can depend on and asset management software they can use to manage the critical functions of their business.
